The suspect in a shooting at a Halloween party in Matagorda County Sunday morning has been arrested.
The Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office says Allen I. Dunlap was taken into custody at a home in El Campo at around 8:19 p.m. Monday.
He is currently in the Matagorda County Jail, charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $300,000.
The third charge comes after another gunshot victim, a 16-year-old, came forward.
The shooting happened in the early morning hours Sunday, at a property in the Tidehaven area, which is between Bay City and Palacios.
Investigators say a group of teenagers from Bay City arrived at the party and a fight broke out inside a barn on the property. Large groups of teenagers then began leaving the area.
As the teenagers were leaving, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired into the crowd.
A 16-year-old and 19-year-old were shot in the incident, in addition to the third victim who has since come forward.
Friends of those struck by gunfire pulled them to safety and immediately took them to Matagorda Regional Hospital. The victims were seriously injured but are expected to recover.
Multiple agencies, including the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers, Matagorda County District Attorney’s Office, and others are investigating the shooting.
If you have any direct information or were at the party, please come forward. If anyone has photos or videos from the party, please provide them. To do so, contact the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office at 979-245-5526 and ask for Sgt. Robert Pierce or Sgt. Keith Majors.
