A military contractor was in federal court on Monday and faces charges connected with a classified document that was lost and firearms found at a San Antonio Air Force base last year.
Comal County Jail records show Zachry Wade Carroll, 47, was arrested and booked Saturday on FBI-issued warrants.
Carroll faces one count of losing defense information, one count of false information and two counts of possession of firearms in federal facilities, records show.
The investigation began in April 2025. The DOJ said Carroll allegedly lost a classified national defense document and didn’t report it to a superior officer.
Additionally, the DOJ alleges he carried a .380 caliber firearm while working at Joint Base San Antonio – Kelly Annex. Authorities also allegedly found a loaded AR-15, a 9mm handgun and several rounds of ammunition in his vehicle on the base.
In the news release, the DOJ said Carroll denied carrying a handgun on him.
The DOJ said he faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
