A man is dead and two others face charges in connection with a shooting on Halloween night in Cockeysville.
According to a court charging document obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News, Aaron Walker Jr., 24, and Elias Bitar, 22, have been charged with home invasion, burglary and assault. Amon Walker, 20, was found dead at Cockeysville Middle School.
Residents told WBAL-TV 11 News they heard shots fired just before 11 p.m. Saturday on Greenside Drive near Wickersham Way. Two days later, Baltimore County police detectives returned to canvass the neighborhood, seeking information and possible witnesses.
“When I heard it, I thought it was fireworks. We have a lot of people setting off fireworks in this neighborhood. So, I heard what sounded like about five shots,” said Don Wofford, a resident. “I thought, ‘Well, that’s it.’ But then, a helicopter came, and I went, ‘Oh boy, I wonder if something happened now.'”
The court record indicates a man had been outside handing out candy to trick-or-treaters when three men — one who had a gun — who were dressed in black and wearing masks approached and threatened him.
“They were sitting outside giving out candies, and a lot of people in the neighborhood who do that (are) older people, even my wife sits out here and gives out candies,” said Monish Gariwala, a resident. “This is a very quiet neighborhood; nothing really happens here, not to my knowledge. We’ve been living here 20 years. You can walk safely any time of the day or night. So, this is the first one. Very scary.”

Police said the homeowner took out his gun and fired. The suspects ran off.
One of the assailants agreed to talk to police. According to the charging documents, Aaron Walker Jr. told investigators that his brother, Amon Walker, asked him and Bitar to go to Cockeysville “in order to assault an individual in the area … an individual who he (Amon) had an unknown issue with was currently at that address.”
County police released no further information other than to say the incident appears to be targeted and there is no active threat to the community.
Bitar and Aaron Walker Jr. remained held Monday without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
